Blackface, a former member of the disbanded Plantashun Boiz group, has accused Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Asake of intellectual property theft.

He claims that the trio sampled his songs without his permission. Blackface specifically pointed to the songs “Ginger” by Wizkid and Burna Boy and “Joha” by Asake.

He alleges that these songs closely resemble his own songs “Twist & Turn” and “Ikebe Supa,” respectively. He says that the only difference between the songs is the lyrics.

Blackface has said that he does not oppose young artists sampling his work, but he does take issue with the lack of permission and proper acknowledgement.

He says that he has been inspired by many young artists, including Wizkid, and that he would like to be given credit for his work.

It remains to be seen whether Blackface will take legal action against Wizkid, Burna Boy, or Asake. However, his accusations have sparked a conversation about intellectual property rights in the Nigerian music industry.

Known in real life as Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, Blackface who has been in the industry for over 20 years and best known for his hit song “Ghetto Child” has previously accused other artists of intellectual property theft, including 2Face Idibia.
