The Church of Pentecost has officially commenced its 47th General Council Meetings at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) in Gomoa Fetteh, bringing together church leaders, council members, and delegates from across Ghana and around the world.
The opening ceremony, held under a spiritually charged atmosphere, marks the beginning of a three-day conference where critical decisions affecting the governance, mission, and growth strategies of the church will be discussed.
The General Council Meetings are the highest policy-making body of the Church and are convened annually to reflect on the church’s progress and set the tone for its future direction.
This year’s council sessions are being held under the theme “A People of God Unleashed to Transform Their World,” aligning with the Church’s five-year strategic vision of influencing society through intentional discipleship and practical evangelism.
The Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, officially opened the meetings on Wednesday April 30, urging leaders to remain focused on the church’s transformational agenda and to approach discussions with unity, prayer, and purpose.

He emphasised the need for the church to remain relevant in the face of growing global challenges, while staying anchored in scripture and spiritual values.
“We gather not just to review, but to renew our mission,” Apostle Nyamekye stated. “Our calling is to transform lives and communities, and this council provides the opportunity to sharpen our focus as a movement of God.”
Delegates will engage in reports, policy reviews, leadership appointments, and deliberations on key issues affecting the church’s operations and outreach both locally and globally.
The General Council Meetings will also include moments of worship, intercession, and fellowship, reflecting the church’s deep commitment to spiritual renewal as the foundation for organisational growth.
The event is expected to conclude on Friday May 2.
