Samuel Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari, known in showbiz as Koo Ofori, a popular actor from the *Efiewura* TV series, has been granted bail after being arrested for allegedly defrauding a US-based Ghanaian of $50,000.
At a court hearing on May 12, 2025, the Dansoman Circuit Court, under the presiding judge, set his bail at GH¢320,000.
As part of the bail conditions, Koo Ofori must provide three sureties and submit his Ghana Card to the Clerk of the Court. He is also required to report to the police every Monday.
According to police reports, Koo Ofori is accused of receiving the $50,000 from a victim based in California, promising to facilitate a legitimate investment opportunity.
However, he allegedly failed to fulfill the agreement and went into hiding.
The victim, whose name has not been disclosed, reported the matter after multiple failed attempts to recover the funds.
Investigations revealed that Karikari not only failed to repay the money but also ignored a court summons on April 17, 2025, which led to a bench warrant for his arrest.
