Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, says if she could go on a date with any historical figure, she would choose the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Ghana Weekend on May 27, 2025, she explained that as a new MP, spending time with the Speaker would be a valuable learning opportunity.
“I would want to have dinner with the Speaker of Parliament. I am sure by the end of the dinner, if it’s an hour or two, I would have a big book to write stories or information to acquire knowledge.
“I am new in Parliament and I need to learn a lot, and that dinner will give me the opportunity to tap from his experience. You know he has been there for quite a long time.”
“So, it will give me the opportunity to tap from that rich experience so that I can also use that to equip myself. Yes, so, my Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Bagbin,” Okunor said.
