Sister of slain Yaa Baby claims alleged killer is a known ‘Game Boy’

The tragic story of Phillipa, popularly known as Yaa Baby, continues to spark public outrage and concern after new revelations emerged from her grieving sister.

In an emotional interview posted on the Anointing 829 TikTok channel, Richlove, sister of the deceased, opened up about the events surrounding the fatal shooting that claimed Phillipa’s life and the alleged lifestyle of the man accused of pulling the trigger, Kobby GH.

A Shocking Confession

Richlove confirmed on record that Kobby GH, who is currently at the centre of the murder investigation, was widely known in Kumasi as a Game Boy, a colloquial term for individuals engaged in internet fraud.

“He’s a spender, a baller. Everyone in town knows him,” in Twi she stated, painting a picture of a man with a lavish lifestyle, one that drew admiration from some and concern from others.

She also revealed on authority that he (Kobby GH) was in possession of a licensed pump-action shotgun, which he allegedly kept in his vehicle. That same weapon, according to police sources, is believed to have been used in the incident that resulted in Phillipa’s untimely death.

A Community in Mourning

Phillipa’s death has left friends, family, and the nation and online community in shock. What began as a tragic domestic incident has now become a cautionary tale reverberating across social media and mainstream platforms alike. The case continues to draw scrutiny as investigators work to bring justice to the victim’s family.

A Word to Young Women

In light of these developments, many are using this moment to speak directly to young women navigating relationships in a world increasingly influenced by flashy displays of wealth and social status.

“Not all that glitters is gold,” said some advocates online. “Too many young girls are lured by the appearance of success, money, cars, parties, but behind some of these facades are dangerous, unstable situations.”

As the case unfolds, the message is resonating far beyond Kumasi. It’s a chilling reminder to prioritise personal safety over status, and to question the true cost of luxury when it comes at the expense of peace and life itself.

Final Thoughts

As the family of Yaa Baby seeks justice and healing, Richlove’s testimony serves as both a heartfelt tribute and a sobering warning: appearances can be deceiving. In a society where social media often glorifies opulence without context, it is more important than ever for young people, especially women, to remain discerning, vigilant, and safe.
