Creative personality and outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter, Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu popularly known as KOKA has called on the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to scrutinise the finances of Ghanaian rapper Chris Waddle, questioning how the artiste funds his luxurious lifestyle.

During an appearance on Starr Showbiz with Feeling Daddy on Starr 103.5 FM on Saturday, 21 June, KOKA said his demand follows what he described as repeated social-media attacks from the rapper—aimed not only at him personally but also at former president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“Chris Waddle has become a social commentator. He publicly ridiculed Nana Addo and his governance. Early this year, twice, Chris Waddle attacked and insulted me on Twitter [X]. And today if FBI is in Ghana investigating people; and me; I am questioning your wealth because you did music. The music cannot give you the amount of money you have and the cars you drive,” KOKA stated.

He revealed plans to submit a formal petition to the US Embassy in Accra, insisting the probe should extend to the rapper’s business dealings.

“I’m saying, till I rest, I will make noise. I’m going to write to the American Embassy. I will make noise till they get to his turn. I want him to know that you don’t determine who to fight and then in fight, there is no formula. Wherever the FBI is – if they don’t arrest him – then the ones they’ve arrested, I question it. Was he fair to my government? Was he fair to my personality? No. So nobody should question me about it.”

Chris Waddle—known for hits such as Ayi and for his entrepreneurial ventures—has yet to respond publicly to the allegations.

KOKA’s comments have ignited debate across social media, with users split over whether his accusations are politically motivated.

The controversy surfaces as US investigators are reportedly collaborating with Ghanaian authorities on financial- and cyber-crime cases, fueling speculation about the scope of any potential inquiries.
