Suzzy Pinamang, the SDA Senior High School student who sustained a gunshot injury to the eye, has paid a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, following her return from the United Kingdom where she underwent a successful surgery.
Ablakwa shared details of the visit on his official social media page on Friday, July 5, 2025.

In his post, the Minister wrote: “It was all joy when Suzzy Pinamang and her caregivers made sure they first came to my office right after landing in Accra on Thursday night to say thank you. I am so thrilled she can finally see again.
“I deeply admire Suzy’s fighting spirit and know she’s going to accomplish great things for herself and our country.

God bless Ibrahim Mahama, Suzy’s medical team, H.E. Harriet Thompson, the UK High Commissioner to Ghana, our amazing staff of Ghana’s High Commission in the UK and the MFA Protocol Department a really inspiring partnership. I wish to particularly commend all the caregivers for keeping their promise to me and returning to Ghana after the successful surgery ,that’s the true Ghanaian spirit! All glory belongs to God. For God and Country 🙏🏾”

The surgery, which restored Suzzy’s vision, was fully funded by Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist, Ibrahim Mahama.
Suzzy’s case received national attention earlier this year after she sustained serious injuries from a gunshot wound to the eye while on campus. Her recovery has been hailed as a remarkable example of resilience and community support.
