Ghanaian Dancehall Icon, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale brought electrifying energy to the 2025 President’s Cup halftime show, thrilling fans with a medley of his popular tracks.

The much-anticipated football clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko took place on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium. ‘

However, midway through the game, it was Shatta Wale’s dynamic performance that stole the spotlight.

The award-winning artiste lit up the stadium with crowd favourites, including his 2016 anthem Mahama Paper. As he launched into the track, fans erupted in excitement, singing along in unison.

In a memorable moment, Shatta Wale paused to acknowledge President John Mahama, affectionately referring to him as the “smiling mafia,” a nickname that drew cheers and laughter from the crowd and dignitaries alike.

What started as a halftime show quickly turned into an unforgettable concert, with the stadium erupting in cheers and dance, leaving fans buzzing long after the final whistle.

On the pitch, Asante Kotoko secured the 2025 President’s Cup with a 2-1 victory over their archrivals, Hearts of Oak.
