The Minister of State in charge of Public Sector Reforms, Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, has expressed profound gratitude to the French Republic for its vital support during Ghana’s 2024 elections.

Speaking at the French National Day celebration on Saturday July 12, in Accra, she acknowledged France’s continued solidarity with the Ghanaian people and its commitment to democratic governance.

“We express our sincere appreciation for France’s invaluable support during the last election and democratic transition, as well as its unwavering solidarity with the Ghanaian people,” she said.

Her remarks underscores the importance Ghana places on its longstanding diplomatic ties with France, describing the relationship as both “enduring and cordial.”

Akanvariba also commended France for its global leadership in promoting peace, stability, and multilateral cooperation.

“France’s effortless commitment to the principle of multilateralism, global peace and international stability mirrors the core values upheld by Ghana,” she noted.

She further stressed Ghana’s pride in partnering with France to promote these shared ideals not only within Africa but on the global stage.

“We are privileged to collaborate with France in the promotion of these shared ideals across Africa and on the global stage at large,” she added.

The French National Day, also known as The Bastille Day event brought together diplomats, government officials, business leaders, and members of the international community.

The evening reaffirmed the mutual respect and collaborative spirit that continues to define Ghana-France relations.
