Dancehall star Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has assured his fans of a special concert as a token of appreciation following his release from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

Fans of the artiste on Thursday, August 21 stormed EOCO demanding his release and later even threathened defacing the premises of the organisation if he was not released. The artiste was later released after meeting revised bail conditions. His lawyer, Cephas Boyuo, confirmed that the initial GH₵10 million bail was reduced to GH₵5 million with two sureties. Shatta Wale is now required to report to EOCO three times a week, as investigations continue into how he acquired a Lamborghini Urus without verifiable ownership documents.

In a heartfelt message shared shortly after his release, Shatta Wale thanked everyone who stood by him during the process, especially his fans.

“I want to say thank you to my management team… Everybody has been supportive with this and to you the fans, I owe you a beautiful concert one of these days because you guys have been supportive,” he said.

Shatta Wale also acknowledged fans who had gathered outside EOCO offices during his detention, refusing to leave until news of his release broke.

“I heard some of you came there from morning and you didn’t want to leave but as you have seen my video you should know Shatta is safe, your king is safe, One Don is safe. I am home now and I want to say a big thank you for supporting me, for being around me in times like this because I needed you guys the most. You guys are the ones that hold me down.”

He expressed gratitude to EOCO staff for handling the process with professionalism.

“To all the staff of EOCO, you guys have been wonderful. At least I came there, you guys really took me through the rightful processes that were needed and I just want to say God bless you,” he said.

The musician also extended special thanks to EOCO Executive Director, Mr. Raymond Archer.

“To Mr. Raymond Archer, I just want to tell you I thank you so much for your understanding. I thank you so much for cooperating.”

Shatta Wale had come under scrutiny for allegedly failing to prove lawful ownership of a Lamborghini Urus. EOCO revealed he bought the car “from the street” through a WhatsApp contact named “ZAK” and could not produce official documents, except a customs declaration form linked to a person now in prison.

Despite the controversy, the artiste’s release has brought relief to fans and supporters who rallied behind him throughout the ordeal.
