Renowned Nigerian actor Deyemi Okanlawon has expressed his admiration for Ghanaian culture, showing off his knowledge of local languages and dishes in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeekend on September 25, 2025.
During the interview, Okanlawon demonstrated his growing familiarity with the Akan language, confidently saying phrases such as Akwaaba (welcome) and Ete sen (how are you).
He also learned additional expressions on the spot, including the Ga word for welcome, Obaake.
The actor further revealed his fondness for Ghanaian cuisine, listing popular local delicacies such as banku, waakye, fufu, and kenkey among his favorites.
