The Forestry Worship Centre in the Sunyani Area of the Church of Pentecost has held a retirement and appreciation service in honour of six long-serving officers of the church for their years of dedicated service.
The service, held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, brought together family members, congregants and loved ones to celebrate the contributions of the retiring officers as they officially brought their active service to a close.

Those honoured for retirement were Elder Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, who served for 25 years; Deaconess Elizabeth Agyei, 32 years; Deaconess Martha Kyeremeh, 25 years; Deaconess Rebecca Appiah, 32 years; Deaconess Cecilia Kumi, 22 years; and Deaconess Augustina Amponsah, who served the church for 37 years.
The service was also used to recognise the efforts of three other officers who have served the church in various capacities.
They are Elder Daanu Blankson, Elder Peter Kosine and Deaconess Constance Ofori.

Speaking at the service on the topic ‘Forsake me not when my strength is spent, the Resident Minister of the Forestry Worship Centre, Pastor Enock Tawiah Narh, commended the retiring and recognised officers for their faithfulness, sacrifice and commitment to the work of God over the years.
Drawing from Psalms 71, urged Christian to continually seek refuge in the Lord, even in times when human strength appears to be failing.
To the retiring officers, he noted that their service had contributed significantly to the growth and stability of the church and urged them to continue to reply on God even now that they have gone out of active service in the church.

Pastor Narh emphasised that although the officers were retiring from active duty, their experience, counsel and spiritual support would continue to be valuable to the church.
“It is a good thing these leaders are being retired today, but it is a good opportunity for us to draw from their experiences,” he added.

The Area Head for the Sunyani Area, Apostle Abraham Swanzy, who also addressed the congregation, praised the officers for serving with humility and perseverance.
He encouraged them to remain steadfast in their Christian walk and assured them that their labour in the Lord had not been in vain.
“The message that came today is a reminder to us that as human, we were not made to live forever. One day, we will retire from our work or even better, we will all die to meet our maker,” he said.
The service was marked by prayers, exhortations and presentations as the church expressed gratitude to the officers for their decades of service and wished them well in the next phase of their lives.
