Ghanaian content creator Christford Affadu Danful, popularly known as Ekow Black, is currently in police custody following his arrest by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET).
The arrest, which took place on Thursday January 15, comes after a video allegedly showing Ekow Black assaulting a woman, said to be his ex-girlfriend, went viral on social media.
According to police sources, the viral footage triggered swift action from the CVET, leading to the arrest of the content creator for further investigations.
Ekow Black has since claimed that the video is an old one and stated that he had already apologised for his actions. However, investigations by the police indicate that the incident captured in the video occurred on November 30, 2025.
Police say investigations into the matter are ongoing as they work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged assault and determine the appropriate legal steps.
The case has sparked widespread public reaction online, reigniting conversations around domestic violence, accountability and the responsibility of public figures in Ghana.
