The Food and Drugs Authority (Ghana) has confiscated several unregistered products during an enforcement operation at the Porials Pitch 3 event held at the Ghud Park in Accra on Saturday, April 18.

In a post shared on X on Sunday, April 19, the Authority said the exercise formed part of ongoing efforts to protect public health and shield unsuspecting consumers from potentially harmful goods.
The seizures were made during routine surveillance, where the FDA’s Enforcement Team identified multiple items that had not been registered in line with regulatory requirements.

According to the Authority, the sale of unregistered products poses a significant risk, as such goods have not undergone the necessary safety, quality, and efficacy checks mandated by law.
The FDA stressed that all products, especially consumables and cosmetics, must be properly registered before being introduced onto the Ghanaian market. It further warned that it will continue to intensify monitoring and enforcement activities at public gatherings and commercial centres.

Although specific details about the types and quantities of seized products were not disclosed, the Authority reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding consumers and maintaining strict regulatory oversight.
Porials Pitch 3, hosted by popular Snapchat influencer Dulcie Boateng, drew a large crowd, with numerous vendors showcasing a wide range of products.
