Rapper and singer Kwesi Arthur has hinted at a possible new collaboration with fellow star Black Sherif during an interview with Kafui Dey published on Friday, May 15.

Speaking about his recent return to the stage and the reception from fans in Accra, Kwesi Arthur said he was overwhelmed by the impact of his latest project, dismissing claims that he had gone quiet in the music scene.

“I haven’t done anything here since I put the project out, so seeing the impact of it for the first time in Accra was amazing. I was blown away by it,” he said.

The “Grind Day” hitmaker also reacted to rumours suggesting he had stopped making music, saying his recent performance proved otherwise.

During the interview, Kafui Dey mentioned that Black Sherif had previously described Kwesi Arthur as one of his musical influences. Responding to the revelation, Kwesi Arthur said he was grateful to inspire younger artists.

“I’m glad I can be a vessel for artists like him,” he stated.

Kwesi Arthur further disclosed that he recently spoke with Black Sherif after meeting the latter’s manager, Aubrey, in Osu.

According to him, both musicians are expected to meet soon, fuelling speculation about a collaboration.

When asked directly if fans should expect a joint project, Kwesi Arthur confirmed the possibility.

“Oh, definitely. I’m looking forward to working with him on something else,” he disclosed.

He added that although they had worked on a song together in the past, he believes the record did not reach its full potential, making them eager to create something new.

“We did a song in the past, but it’s not where it’s supposed to be. So, we’re looking to do something new,” he said.

A collaboration between the two artists is expected to excite fans, as both Kwesi Arthur and Black Sherif remain among the most influential voices in Ghana’s contemporary music scene.
