Kumawood actor and producer Lil Win has defended Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah amid widespread criticism of the clergyman’s failed prophecy about Ghana’s FIFA World Cup clash against Croatia.
The Believers Worship Centre founder had predicted that the Black Stars would defeat Croatia, but Ghana suffered a 2-1 defeat on June 27, triggering criticism and mockery on social media.
Reacting to the backlash, Lil Win took to social media to condemn those attacking the prophet, directing particular criticism at fellow pastors.
“Those of you, especially the prophets speaking against Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah, are all hypocrites. You don’t know anything,” the actor said in a video.
Lil Win argued that rather than being ridiculed, Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah should be commended for publicly praying and prophesying in support of the Black Stars ahead of their World Cup campaign.
“Adom Kyei-Duah is the only one to pray and prophesy for the Black Stars to qualify for the next stage. The rest of you were quiet. Now you’re using the Croatia issue to speak badly about him. Shut up.”
He also questioned what the prophet’s critics had done to support the national team before the tournament.
“What did any of you say about Ghana’s chances at the World Cup? Nothing!”
He ended his remarks by warning those who continue to criticise Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah, insisting that the clergyman’s prophecies would eventually come to pass.
