Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Afrobeats stars Burna Boy, Davido and Asake to come together under a single charitable foundation to support vulnerable Nigerians, saying their wealth can make a significant difference in easing the burden on the government.
Mrs Tinubu made the appeal while inspecting the National Community Food Bank Project for North Central Nigeria, where she stressed the need for successful entertainers to channel part of their resources into helping the less privileged.
According to her, while luxury lifestyles are admirable, giving back to society should remain a priority.
“I think it’s high time we started helping those who need help in the country. I want to appeal to our young ones in the entertainment industry.”
“I want to appeal to our young people in this country. Burna Boy, Asake and Davido, we want to see you come together under one foundation to help the poor with your money. Helping the poor with your money. Good cars are good, a Maybach is good, and Rolls-Royce is good, but you can still help. The burden on the government is huge, you can still help.”
The National Community Food Bank Project is one of the Federal Government’s initiatives aimed at improving food security and supporting vulnerable households across Nigeria, with the inspection focusing on the North Central region.
