Rapper Emmanuel Botchwey known in showbiz as Kwaw Kese wants to pull the reins on his smoking habit.
Kwaw Kese who claims has been smoking for more than 20 years has stated in a tweet that he wants to go a break for a while.
“I shmoke to over twenty years, eiii. 2019 biggest resolution, I go go break small so help me God,” he tweeted.
The Ghanaian rapper who has always advocated the decriminalisation of marijuana was arrested in 22nd November, 2014 for smoking the illegal substance in a public place in Kumasi.
Kwaw Kese, popularly called Abodam, was smoking in an open place in front a wine shop in Kumasi with other friends when he was arrested.
He was sentenced to a day imprisonment with a fine of GHc 1, 200.
Recently, he has been talking about the need to legalise marijuana in Ghana.
He also said in an interview on Joy FM that he still smokes even though he doesn’t do it in public.
“That issue is a public issue but if I am doing it under my bed that that is me,” Kwaw Kese offered as a defence,” he noted.
