‘So what’ singer, Fantana has said in an interview with Zion Felix on the ‘Uncut’ that she is not really bothered by social media trolls about her.
According to her, every artiste gets backlashes from the beginning of their act/career and that she expected every terrible comment coming at her.
She said bad comments are made so the artiste proves the naysayers wrong and also develop a tough skin.
She acknowledged that people don’t get lots of negative comments to make about her because there is obviously nothing negative to be said.
When asked if she heard the comment that she is not a good artiste, she replied, “ yeah but they say that about everybody who starts. They say that about everybody who starts because that’s just what it is”.
“I think they just want me to prove myself and I feel like they trynna see if I have a tough skin as well but I’ve seen that they do that with everyone,” she continued.
Answering whether she took offence to the stage performance comments and the worst comment she has heard, she said, “no, I was expecting it”
“mmm the worst comment, I have too many teeth. I don’t really get bad comments like as bad that will make me cry, no”
“I think they don’t have anything to say so the only thing they can say is that I have too many teeth and then if I didn’t have enough teeth that one will also be [completed the sentence with an expression on the face]
Touching on the issue of her first stage performance which she was trolled for, she said she expected her performance to be worse than what was seen on the night and that it is normal for a first performance.
“And I was expecting that it was my first performance and I was even expecting for it to be worse cos what I did was my first time so I’m also gonna go and watch my video and see what I can do better”
“But everybody has their first horrible stage performance. You learn from your mistakes,” she concluded.
