Rapper Lyrical Joe has disclosed that he had to do 50 songs to prove to an entertainment firm that wanted to help him.
He said since there was no source of support after losing his parents to an accident, he took the chance.
“When I came to Accra the first person that wanted to hold me, it was Boom Entertainment so I got signed for some years and I had to record 50 songs before he would agree to put me on his label to put something in me.
“And the thing is it’s not like I had any other thing to support me, that’s all I had so I was like okay fine let me do it. If this person is going to produce my studio time and I mean if somebody is giving you a contract you know well that other things come with it be it accommodation, everything comes with it so let me just go into it so yeah I did it. I think it took me about a month to come up with the 50 songs. After that I got an okay deal with him, we did it put out a couple of videos-the ‘Bow Tie’ and even the 5th August, the first one until last year I got off the contract,” he elaborated.
He said all he has now is a personal manager but no label since last year.
“So since last year till now I’ve been label-free. From the ‘BiiBi Ba time till now no contract, nothing. It’s just where picked from,” he concluded.
LJ explained he drops ‘5th August’ for his birthday. This year’s is a whole 10-minute bar upon bar.
