Highlife artiste, Dada Hafco has said shifting all blame on the police in the Takoradi missing girls case is unfair.
This is in response to residence of Takoradi asking for the resignation of CID boss, Maame Tiwa and other stakeholders for misleading the public and not doing their work well especially in reference to her words- when she said they knew where the girls were and they should keep on keeping on till the police came out with DNA results proving the girls were dead.
Speaking on Zylofon FM where he is a panellist on the Showbiz Agenda, he said parents did not play their part in being ‘responsible parents’. He cited instances where parents do not even know when their wards are planning suicide because they barely make their presence felt in their children’s life.
“I think the police didn’t handle the issue well but let’s also look at the parents,” he said.
The ‘Yebewu Nti’ singer said incompetent players in the case should be shown the door; either they resign or be fired, actions should be taken against them.
“I feel some people might go. I feel maybe the person who led the investigation, maybe the CID boss for the utterances she made. Somebody also opened a conversation and said maybe the time she said what she said they were in touch with the girls and kidnappers but one thing I find difficult to understand is that how do you arrest the alleged kidnappers of these girls and say they refused to talk. How do they refuse to talk? Do they belong to a gang or something?”
“The police did not handle it well. That one is a fact. But I’m also raising the conversation that we should also look beyond certain things s, for me, I think maybe the head of the investigation team, if they have to be fired to fired or resign, yes we can call for that.
For me I feel those who have been irresponsible, let them face the actions. Because if it were even to be somewhere, those people would’ve laid down their jobs a long time ago. The whole thing is that the issue has happened so we need to move on but also the people who have been incompetent in the line of duty must also be told to step aside and let’s move the force forward because you were appointed to come and do XYZ so when you come and fail to do the job, you get fired” he stated
He concluded that only the irresponsible ones should be punished and that calling for the heads of everyone in authority is not the way to go otherwise that might result to removing authorities who put others in those positions which will mean the president.
