Award-winning highlife artiste, Dada Hafco has said on Zylofon FM that he would never buy awards like most artistes do.
He said this while discussing award schemes, votes and what has become of them
He said he would rather his work speaks for itself than pay fans to vote and later pretend on the awards night.
“I have said that me, me, Dada Hafco, I’ve said that I wouldn’t want to give money to people to vote for me. If I’m being recognized, I am being recognized for the hardwork I’ve put out there,” he said.
“So if at the end of the day I go and sit at the front row and then I’m expecting like immediately they mention the award, I know I’m going to win because I’ve given money to people to vote for me, it doesn’t make sense.”
“You need to be recognized. You need to win when you don’t even expect it. Your hard work need to speak for you” he concluded.
Dada Hafco won Guitar Band Artiste of the Year at the maiden Highlife Music Awards.
He was also nominated in the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and Ghana Music Awards UK.
