Highlife artiste, Kuami Eugene has disclosed that one thing that scares him as an artist in Ghana is the fact that musicians are easily forgotten.
According to him, Ghanaians would rather listen to old foreign songs than songs done by Ghanaians.
He said he is working a lot but he is acred he might be ignored one day so he prays that does not happen.
When Mercury Quaye of Hitz FM asked him what scares him, he replied “I don’t actually get scared cos I feel I’m working. This is God-given. I wanted to be a celebrity and it’s finally here so I’m thankful for it and I’m not scared at all.”
He, however, said he gets worried any time the thought of being forgotten one day, comes to mind.
“What shakes me a bit sometimes is the rate at which our country can lift somebody and drop the person. That’s what scares me sometimes,” he added.
Kuami Eugene said some people got into the music scene, produced some good songs and fizzled out of the system in a few years.
Kuami Eugene, since his entry into the music scene in 2017 has produced hit songs like ‘Angela’, ‘Confusion,’ ‘Borkor’, Boom Bang Bang’ and ‘Wish Me Well.’
