Bullet has described Wendy Shay’s new song ‘Kut It’ as one of the best songs he has written in a long while.
According to him, he is in dismay when people hear something else when they listen to the songs he writes for his artistes, right from the late Ebony to Wendy Shay and now Fantana.
He said it they chose ‘Kut It’ instead of ‘Cut It’ but his records wanted to appeal to people beyond Ghana and precisely made reference to how Nigerians pronounce the word.
“If you listen to a song like ‘Kut It’, I think it is one of the best songs I’ve written because if you look at the lyrics and composition you realize it’s deep but Ghanaians think songwriting is all about storytelling,” he said.
“But if you listen to ‘Kut It’ by Wendy Shay you can tell it’s filled with so much wisdom.”
“These days, music is universal. It’s now beyond Ghana. Nigeria, for instance, uses words like ‘Odo Yewu’ in their songs so I think Nigerians don’t pronounce it as cut, they say cot so we wanted to appeal to the other side of the African countries too,” he added.
Before now, Bullet was a member of the Ruff N Smooth fame, known for songs including, ‘Swagger’, ‘Send Ur Fire’, ‘Dance For Me’, among many others.
