Kuami Eugene has revealed a painful experience he once had during a performance in Sunyani, Tekyiman.
He narrated how a fan mistakenly hit the microphone in his hand while he was performing and got badly hurt in the mouth and even passed out for two minutes.
He said the audience who had no idea he paused the performance because he was hurt. They kept showering praises on him and the guy who hurt him was also jumping up and down, jubilating.
“I can’t tell if he wanted to take the microphone from me or whatever it was, he was overly excited so when he raised his arm and he hit the mic from beneath it so I passed out. It was that hard,” he told Sammy Flex on Real Talk.
“I passed out and they thought it was all part of the performance. They kept hailing me ‘Rockstar, Rockstar, Rockstar’ all that time my eyes were shut. I felt like crying but how do I cry before that crowd? So I turned my back to them, asked for a towel, told DJ Vyrusky to pause the song. It took me like 2 minutes,” he said.
Even though he was badly hurt, he had to continue the performance and get medicine after.
“So I had to get the microphone and go and perform again with a bloody mouth. I finished performing and I went backstage. In the car, my head ached until we got back to Accra. We had to stop and get medicine but the following day, I felt okay,” he noted.
He also revealed that he could perform for a whole 2 hours nonstop and that he does a lot of exercising to take him that long.
He is known to always dance and involve his audience in his performances.
