A lot has happened in the few hours that American rapper, Cardi B spent in Ghana.
I bet you have seen Ghana and Nigeria taking swipes at each other on social media. We no kill a person. It was just a little misunderstanding. We too dey love drama but we no go gree say we dey love. Make I yan you weytin happen.
The programme was actually organised by LiveSpot 360, an entertainment company in Nigeria, in collaboration with EIB and BTL Africa.
In one of Cardi B’s live videos, she also confirmed that the frontiers of the event are Nigerians.
“There was a couple of misunderstanding maybe because of the promoter, he’s really big in Nigeria but I don’t think that he’s from here(Ghana). I don’t know how things work around here, maybe for would’ve been different if he was from here (Ghana) but like I said there was a whole bunch of miscommunication…,” she said.
She spent three days in Nigeria (too much time that she even named herself Chioma), met people in the streets and market, donated some items, went to spray money on strippers in the club, got wasted on just a bottle of beer.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ singer came to Ghana on Sunday, was given presidential sort of treatment – a ride to Kempiski where she was to relax till her show in the evening.
Then our female celebrities and some media people went to the hotel to “meet and greet” because they had been invited by ‘somebody’ for that session. My investigation proves that most of them were invited by Ghanaian singer Becca, whose Nigerian husband (Tobi) is a friend to the CEO of LiveSpot, Deola Art Alade.
Moesha, Efia Odo, Lydia , Sandra and the rest had to wait from the time given, 1 pm till 3 pm when Cardi came out to sunbathe and chew chichinga (whoever gave her that errmmm). The celebrities saw her by the pool and did not tell her they were there to see her and she also explained there was no Meet and Greet in her Ghana contract.
Back in Nigeria, the contract involved that which she gladly did.
So u guys called us to come have a one on one lunch date with @iamcardib and she has been chewing khebab for 7 hours in her room without showing up
What do u guys take Ghana celebrities for ?! This can never happen in Nigeria
Wake up Ghana !

When the celebs waited till around 4 pm, they felt disrespected and so resorted to Instagram/Facebook live to let out their obviously flaming anger. Some chose to insult her, call names, a dirty stripper, stinking vagina, bla bla. And then as usual…social media took over teasing the big brands.
The show was a flop. It started late when the time per the ticket is 2 pm. As of 6 pm when I got there, they had issues with which gates to use.
There was this white lady in front of me in the queue at the checkpoint who was really frustrated. Apparently, she joined different queues at a time, when it got to her turn, they told her she was in the wrong queue. So, when she got to the queue I was in, she was not ready to take another bouncing. She was furious. You could say that the last queue broke her back. It took a minute before they were able to make her leave the queue to allow others through that particular gate.
The lights misbehaved, an artiste like Guru NKZ had to perform in the dark. The sound wasn’t so cool. Cardi B also mentioned that all those factors did not make her comfortable about performing- probably why she came on stage after 1:30 am!
Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Joey B, Tiwa Savage, Patoranking, all who were billed for the show and actually flew in didn’t perform. The show did not actually end but at 3:45 am when it didn’t look like the organizers knew what they were about, even the Shatta Wale fans who swore ‘no Shatta, no show’ left and the people had to put the music off.
The stadium is a wrong venue. The turn out was very low. At a point, it was a free show. You could just walk in without a ticket. Oh, the soldiers chased some guys all around the field – they probably chopped some hefty slaps. I had my sneakers in my hand by then so when I saw everybody running in my direction, the black in me did not allow me to stand and watch. I flew.
At one point, the audience who were tired of responding to “are ready to see Cardi B?, are you ready to see Shatta Waleeee? Make some noooooise. Make some noise for Tiwa Savage. They’re all backstage….” started throwing empty water bottles on to the stage. The guys on stage had to beg and dodge flying bottles for a while before calm was restored. They had to clean the stage again- they just finished cleaning, waiting for Cardi when that happened. So they cleaned again and then Cardi came to perform.
She actually repped Ghana. Her outfit was lit! In the Ghana flag just like her hair. Every individual in the audience probably got satisfied one way or the other. She twerked, interacted, performed all around. From what I saw, she had fun or pretended to have had fun.
However, she apologized to everyone whose feelings was hurt. She even compromised a meet and greet where Some of the celebrities gave her presents, took pictures, made peace before she came on stage.
Lest I forget. The food I ate, Jollof tasted like something unpleasant. The noodles, daddy Lord! I ate it out of hunger and the fact that I paid for em– by now you’re asking how this concerns you.
But to the organisers, we need an explanation to why all these things happened. You can’t go silent on this!
