Sound engineer/producer, Fred Kyei Mensah, popularly known as Fredima has disclosed that all the hard work he put in the 2016 campaign as part of the Creative Arts for Change group to facilitate the NPPs victory in the elections, his efforts yielded no fruit.
“It is a few people in the NPP like Afia Akoto of Masloc and Ernest Owusu Bempah Bonsu who make sure I have something to feed on every month and some members who also once in a blue moon offer some help. However, it could have been better from my party looking at my predicament and loyalty” he told Graphic Showbiz
The producer who lost his studio in the June 3 twin disaster (flood and fire) disaster in Circle in 2015 is still struggling to get back on his feet
“Once in a while, the Creative Arts for Change, a group of creative people who support the NPP are given the opportunity to showcase their talents on various platforms and are rewarded accordingly. As of now, I don’t have a car and life becomes unbearable for me sometimes,” he said.
He also pointed that he has been made a board member of the National Folklore Board by the government but things had been slow over there too.
“We are trying to restructure it since there had been no board in place for almost 10 years and it’s difficult getting our constant allowance but we’re hoping things would get better,” he noted.
Although things have not turned out well since his campaign during the previous elections, his loyalty has not shifted. He said he will still campaign for the 2020 elections.
“I will campaign vigorously for my NPP party any day but will also reprimand them when things don’t go well. I love the style of governance and philosophy of the great party,” he stated.
