Actress Lydia Forson believes religious fanatics are becoming recalcitrant with the lockdown directives because of the fasting and prayer sessions the nation decided to hold when the first coronavirus cases were recorded in Ghana.
When the first few cases were confirmed, the nation embarked on fasting and prayer after some pastors joined the president in the Jubilee House to pray for the country.
“When the first few cases were announced, we organized a national day of fasting a prayer. For religious fanatics, this was all they needed to believe that they would be immune to this. We set the tone. I believe in prayers and sense- many others don’t and that’s the problem,” she said in response to a citinewsroom video shared to Twitter.
In the video, a woman was queried for not putting on a mask and she defended the act with the excuse of being protected by God.
