Actress Gloria Sarfo has confessed her ‘loved-up’ post with Dada Boat was all publicity stunt to promote a movie series they both starred in.
In June this year, Gloria Sarfo took to Instagram to share pictures of herself and Mikki Osei Berko who is popularly known as Dada Boat. The poses could be mistaken for pre-wedding photos.
The public bought the lie and the two played along for weeks.
In a recent interview with Ola Michael on Neat FM, Gloria noted that she pulled the stunt without even informing Dada Boat or her own team but they just had to play along after she got the public’s attention with her posts.
She said she did not actually plan the post and that the caption just happened when the pictures came in after their shoot.
“It was a movie series. Looking at the message it carried, we needed to give it the needed attention. I think it worked out perfectly.
“It’s amazing actually. We did not deliberately sit to plan it. We were going to play a couple in the series ‘Corona Life’ so we did a photoshoot before the production so when the pictures came, the chemsitry and everything represented. I was even about to go to bed and I posted one of the pictures. I don’t even know where the caption came from. I was super excited about the whole thing and I just felt let me try this and see,” she said.
“Even Mikki knew nothing about it but funny enough, he played along when he saw it. I started it but I didn’t imagine it’d get that much attention… My management team was amazed because I didn’t even tell them,” she added.
She also disclosed that admirers were ready to sponsor the whole marriage ceremony from rings to gown and just everything that ould have made the ceremony if they were actually getting married.
“My father called me saying lot sof people called him to inquire… If the marraige was real, we wouldn’t pay for anything. We had people who clled, they were ready to sponsor Mikki’s shoes, mine, my gown, our rings. A very huge jewlery shop in Ghana said they’d sponsor the ring no matter the cost of our choice, they’d sponsor our jewries. Some people said they’d take care of the decor, another said event center, food, like virtually everything …it was going to be well sponsored if it was true,” she recounted.
However, she added that she broke lots of hearts after they learned the truth.
“But people are a bit disappointed. I’m so sorry…I’m apologizing to everyone,” she apologized adding that she later realized how serious her joke was.
