Ghanaian film maker Louis Sah-Aquahman, has made some revelations with regards to how Shatta Wale’s songs got selected for Spanish film ‘Black Beach’.
Recently, news broke that three of Shatta Wale’s songs (My Level, Mama Stories and Ayoo) had been featured in the Netflix movie.
While people wondered how Shatta got the plug, a staff member of the Creative Arts Council, Frank Owusu Kwabena, put up a post detailing how their outfit helped to grant permit for the shoot of the movie.
Some interpreted that he sought to communicate that the council was responsible for Shatta’s feature.
In the meantime, Louis who was directly involved in selecting locations for the shoot in Ghana, has told his story of how it all happened.
He told Sammy Flex TV in an exclusive interview that he got contacted by the director of the production house which took charge of the Ghana shoots, to help in getting locations for them.
He also recounted that while moving around the country with the Spanish crew when they came to Ghana, he introduced Ghanaians songs from Shatta Wale, Kuami Eugene, Kofi Kinaata to them.
After falling in love with Shatta’s songs they decided to settle on his three songs.
He further noted that the pub scenes which had Shatta’s songs played where not even shot in Ghana.
