Ghanaian singer Abiana has stated that she is not offended by Cina Soul’s reaction to her winning ‘Best Female Vocalist of the Year’ at the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
On Friday, June 25th, 2021, the Academy and Board of the 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards adjudged Abiana Ghana’s Best Female Vocalist in the Year under review for her performance on the song ‘Adun Lei’.
Abiana beat five other respectable and very talented vocalists, including Cina Soul, to win the coveted award.
Cina Soul expressed her displeasure on losing the crown as the best female vocalist to Abiana in a tweet.
According to Cina Soul, she should have won, and she proved that she was worthy of the title with her VGMA performance.
She tweeted, “I think I should have won best female vocal performance of the year last night. Las las, I didn’t win, but I understood the assignment and proved it on stage.”
Speaking on Citi TV’s ‘The Chat’ Abiana stated that she thinks that Cina Souls reaction isn’t a bad thing because everyone reacts differently to wins and losses.
“Everyone has a way they react to losing or winning. It’s human behaviour so you cannot expect that everyone will be blown away by you winning, all these things should be expected, so I understand her in that perspective. It’s how she accepts the loss, so let’s just allow it. I might not have dealt with it that way, but that’s how she does it, so we should just accept that.”
The singer who was also nominated for the Songwriter of the Year award made a good showing on the music scene with her song ‘Adunle’.
Before that, she had been featured on Okyeame Kwame’s ‘Bolgatanga Girl’.
