Lord Paper has announced his intention to run for president of the Musicians Union of Ghana.
Speaking on Atinka TV on why he wants to vie for the office someday, he said: “I am ready to grab the opportunity. I will be the President. I think those managing the industry now are playing with it.”
After Obour finished his tenure in 2019, elections for the union have yet not been held.
Bessa Simons has been acting as President of MUSIGA. He is also one of the candidates vying for the President position.
The elections were delayed because one of the Presidential aspirants, Ras Caleb Appiah took the union to court over some anomalies in the voter’s register and the entire system.
Lord Paper did not indicate when he intends to contest for the position but he noted that the music industry is gold but the leaders are not making benefit out of it, stressing that those managing it don’t have the requisite knowledge in managing such an industry.
But does Lord Paper know one needs to hold an executive position at MUSIGA to qualify for the President’s position?
Well, we wish him all the best!
