Nana Asaase’s mother, Mrs. Esther Dua Oyinka, on Friday recounted how difficult it was for Nana Asaase to get into poetry and literary arts.
On the sidelines of Nana Asaase’s ‘Mental Pictures V,’ Mrs. Oyinka said the family wanted him to either be a lecturer or do a corporate job.
But Nana Asaase bent on chasing his passion asked her to convince his father to agree to his decision.
“His dad was against it because of the negative perception about people in the arts. We wanted him to sort of be a lecturer at the university or get an official job to do,” she told Kwame Dadzie.
Nana’s mother said that after realising that Nana Asaase was destined for what he does, they threw their support behind him.
She, therefore, urged parents to lend support to their children in pursuit of their talents and dreams.
