R2bees is a music duo in Ghana made of two talented artistes; a rapper and a singer.
The group based in comprises two cousins: Faisal Hakeem (also known as Paedae da Pralem/Omar Sterling) and Rashid Mugeez (Mugeez).
Mugeez does the singing and choruses for the group, and Paedae does the rap.
What is unknown to many, however, is the fact that Mugeez used to rap when he first started music. One of his rap verses that resonate well with a lot of people is what he did on Samini’s diss song to KK Fosu titled ‘Igwe’.
Another rare fact about the silky-voiced singer of the duo is that he used to be called ‘Gogome’ when he was a rapper.
Mugeez told Kwame Dadzie on Ghana Weekend TV that he decided to shift to singing at the behest of his brother Paedae.
Paedae said because they were both rapping and Mugeez could sing, he advised him to do the melodies so the group gets more balanced in style.
