Kumawood actor, Nana Yeboah, has condemned Ghanaian television stations for championing the popularization of foreign television programmes on Ghanaian television.
According to the comedian, local television networks are to blame for the collapse of the film industry as many now have resorted to airing foreign content, especially soap operas during primetime.
In another discussion, Samuel Degraft Yeboah, a Ghanaian film producer, has advised detractors of the Nana Yeboah to recognize his talent and individuality rather than worry about his use of profane terms.
Samuel Degraft, in an interview with a German-based GHTV, encouraged Nana Yeboah to ignore people who criticize his choice of words, as according to him, that is what defines Mr. Degraft and makes him stand out in the industry.
He added that the film industry in advanced countries keep growing because creatives are celebrated for their unique skills, which sets them apart from others.
Degraft Yeboah and Nana Yeboah are currently promoting two Ghanaian movies, “Shemale” and “Fire and Ice” which will be premiered in Hamburg on Saturday, December 11, 2021.
Fire and Ice which was shot in France and Germany in November stars popular Ghanaian actors, Jackie Appiah and Kalsoume Sinare. The film also features the French ambassador to Ghana, Anne Sophie.
