Ghanaians are no match to Nigerians in terms of music – Kin Frenzee

Ghanaian Afrobeats artiste Kin Frenzee is choosing Nigeria over Ghana when it comes to good music production.

For Kin Frenzee who wouldn’t mince words, Nigerians are way ahead of their Ghanaian colleagues when it comes to making good music.

“Truth be told, Nigerians do better music than us. They put a lot into their music. Their lyrics beat and the entire production of their songs are top-notch. Most of the time it is our DJs who download songs from Nigeria and play them because they sound good to the ear, and you would love to listen to them” he told Graphic Showbiz.

Kin Frenzee born Francis Kingsley Prah went on to say the Nigerian artistes support each other, do a lot of international collaborations and have reps in different countries pushing their music.

“In addition to doing good music, Nigerian musicians have reps in different countries pushing their songs. The likes of Patoranking, Burna Boy have their men out there doing work for them. All these put them ahead of us” he stated.

Still singing their praises, Kin Frenzee said Nigerian musicians are very daring and have been able to penetrate the international market with Afrobeats.

“Trust me, I party a lot when I travel and I can say that you hardly hear songs from Ghanaian artistes out there whie that of Nigerians are all over. They have been able to penetrate the international market with Afrobeats, and they are not joking,” he added.

Giving his thought on how our musicians can make inroads too, Kin Frenzee said it is about time we write better lyrics, do more international collaborations and get reps to promote our music beyond the shores of Ghana.
Away from all that, Kin Frenzee who has worked with musicians like Nero X, Nana Quame and Skrewface is out with a new song ‘Odopa’ recorded by Willis Beats.

The love song which was released two weeks ago talks about faithfulness and the fact that partners should solve their problems without involving a third party.

On whether music pays in Ghana, Kin Frenzee said it is just a handful of musicians who are enjoying while the rest just get by.

“ In Ghana right now, only big names such as Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Kuami Eugene, KiDi and a few others who are enjoying music. The rest are suffering and it is no joke”, he revealed.
