Gospel musician Empress Gifty has said in an interview on ‘The Chat’ on Citi TV that most gospel musicians follow in her footsteps.
According to her, they criticise her but later copy what she does.
Speaking about the backlash she received after performing at Stonebwoy’s Bhim Concert and Kofi Kinaata’s Made in T’adi Concert, she said happy some gospel people bashed her.
She added that very soon, most of those talking ill about what she did will also start performing at secular shows.
“Empress is a game-changer. I make sure I do things that you don’t do. I want to set the pace for you to follow. So very soon you’ll see them doing it. In their houses they jam to it, they sing. And when they come publicly, they pretend. I don’t want to be like them,” she said.
Empress is currently out with a new song titled ‘Eye Woaa’.
