A lot of Ghanaian showbiz people seem to have developed the quest to acquire knowledge in the academic field.
This is unlike in the past when most of these entertainers were seen as school dropouts and uneducated individuals.
The latest Ghanaian celebrity to get a university degree is actress, Jackie Appiah.
A report by Zion Felix indicates that she has graduated from the University of Ghana.
Some people who thought she already had a first degree expressed their surprise when they saw her graduation photos on social media.
The photo also captures Jackie’s manager, Samira Yakubu, also in the graduation robe.

The report says both Jackie and Samira graduated with a degree in Political Science and Information Studies.
Appiah’s appearance on screen became regular when she was invited by Edward Seddoh Junior, the writer of Things We Do For Love, where she played the role of Enyonam Blagogee. She later took part in Tentacles, Games People Play, Sun-city, and many other TV series.
She has also starred in movies such as ‘Princess Tyra’, ‘Heart of Men’, ‘The Perfect Picture’, ‘Passion for the Soul’, among others.
