Hollywood actor Will Smith has apologised to comedian Chris Rock after slapping him at the Oscars for a joke he told about Jada Pinket Smith, his wife.
Chris Rock got smacked in the face on Sunday, March 27, 2022 when he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head at the Oscars.
This did not appear to go over well with Jada’s husband Will Smith.
While presenting the award for best documentary, Rock made a joke about Jada being in G.I. Jane because of her shaved head.
The camera cut to Pinkett Smith, who rolled her eyes as she sat next to Smith.
Smith then took to the stage to slap Rock.
Although it appeared to be a joke at first, Smith returned to his seat and yelled at Rock, “keep my wife’s name out of your mouth.”
For those who don’t know, Jada has been open about her struggle with alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that leads to hair loss.
But some have asked if Chris Rock knew of Jada’s medical condition, because after he was slapped, he kept saying “that was a G.I. Jane joke.
In the meantime, Will Smith, after apologizing to the Academy on Sunday, has taken too his social media handles to apologise to Chris Rock.
