Since Kweku Flick released his new song titled ‘Ewiase’ a few days ago, some people have likened his style in the song to Black Sherif’s.
However, he thinks otherwise; he rather believes he is unique and that even if their styles bear any resemblance, it is because of how the two of them started their music and the conversations they had about exploring new sounds.
Kweku’s style of music cuts across hip hop, afrobeat and highlife music. He says growing up, he used to listen to a lot of highlife artistes, hence the knack to feature highlife prominently in his style.
The ‘Money’ hitmaker who is currently being supported by a team made up of his friends also told Ghana Weekend TV that at present, even though he has a management team, he needs an investor.
According to him, whatever money they get, they put it back into the music business.
Responding to the instances in the music industry where artistes have been labeled as ingrates by investors and the propensity of that affecting other fledgling acts, Kweku said different artistes act differently in various situations.
Kweku who is currently preparing to release his maiden EP titled ‘King of Melodies’ is out with ‘Ewiase’, a fusion of highlife and drill.
