Ghanaian afropop artiste, King Promise eulogised his Nigerian friend Wizkid in a latest interview with Beat FM in Nigeria.
While describing Angelique Kidjo’s win at the 64th Grammy Awards over Wizkid as “wack”, he showered praises on the Nigerian star.
According to the Ghanaian artiste, Wizkid worked so hard and deserved to have won the Global Music Album award which went to Angelique for her album ‘Mother Nature.’
“I just think it’s wack. No disrespect, Angelique Kidjo, legend. I love and respect her but I just think what I think, innit? Like everyone has an opinion. I don’t know what else he has to do. You know what I mean, this guy [Wizkid] has been a pacesetter,he’s done a lot of great stuff, put beautiful music out there that has shifted the attention of the whole world to African music right now. You know he’s like one of the pioneers,” he said in the interview with Beat FM.
