Ghanaian ragga/dancehall afrtiste, Sonni Balli has been reported dead.
The death was announced by Ghanaian music producer and talent manager based in the United Kingdom, Mark Darlington, in his Facebook post.
“SONNI BALLI How could you do this bro! I wished you a happy birthday just this past Monday! This is not fair! I am devastated and heartbroken! How????
Sonniballi RaggaDon is gone!!!” he wrote.
Already, musicians including Skrewfaze have started paying tribute to him.
“Oh MY GODFATHER!! Why soo soon DADA ? Why ??? OH SONNI BALLI !! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🤦🏾♂️,” he wrote.
Sonni Balli, based in the UK, is known for songs like ‘Love My Ex’, ‘When You Are Gone’, among others.
Some of his prominent claims to fame were his features on Mary Agyapong’s ‘Adidede’ and Slim Busterr’s ‘Georgina.’
He was one of the pioneers of the ragga/dancehall genre in Ghana when it started about 25 years ago.
