The estranged husband of gospel artiste Joyce Blessing, Kwabena Adu-Gyamfi, popularly known as Dave Joy, has broken silence on the viral video of the musician depicting her drunkenness and professing her love for a man.
According to Dave, who also doubled as Joyce’s manager, he was not the one the video was sent to.
“My name is Kwabena Adu-Gyamfi. My name is not Kwame. Joyce did the video for Kwame, and she knows the Kwame she was talking about in the video. This is an old issue; I wouldn’t have talked about it. But I am responding to it because the statement from your management mentioned that you sent the video to me,” he said in a video he posted on his Facebook page.

Earlier, the management of Joyce Blessing issued a statement saying the video was old and that she sent it to her husband to express her affection for him.
In the video, Joyce, seen gulping down a drink from a bottle, is heard saying she got drunk after taking red wine.

She is also heard professing her undying love for someone, claiming the person is the reason for her drunkenness.
It is not clear who she was referring to in the video, but earlier reports suggested she did it for a guy who broke her heart in the midst of her marital problems.

Clearing the air on this, her management has refuted the accounts bandying around on social media.
It adds that “the contents were not meant to be circulated publicly.”
It further indicates that this is an attempt by certain people to tarnish the reputation of the gospel musician.
According to Dave, they are still married because they have not officially finalised the divorce.
“We are still married because we did a traditional marriage. The marriage has not been annulled by our families. She took me to court, but that process is still ongoing,” he explained.
Joyce Blessing, about two years ago, had issues with her husband Dave Joy – a situation that led to their separation.
