Although he admits the gospel music industry needs investment, Joe Mettle says there are limits to the kind of deals he would accept in his work as a gospel musician.
Asked if he would sign an ambassadorial deal for a betting company, he answered in the negative.
“It’s a straight no for me. You need to know where to draw the lines. You need to know where you really stand and what to work on, and what will not work for you. As I said, I’m first a minister of God before I am a musician. I happen to be a minister of God who is gifted with the ability to sing. And so my first assignment is my service to God, and so he expects certain things from me,” he said.
I’ll never accept an ambassadorial deal with a betting company – Joe Mettle

The discussion comes in the light of a post Celestine Donkor shared a few days ago regarding a proposal she got from a betting company requesting to do business with her.
The company states that they are moved by her influence to engage her services.
The ‘No One’ singer wondered if the Christian community would like the idea.
She wrote: “Hmmm, PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY AND SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH ME
The screenshot message below is from “A FOREIGN BETTING COMPANY, they Like my numbers and want me to advertise for them on my pages for the cool amount stated below.
Question is, Should I accept?
To be honest, It’s not easy to be a gospel artiste. It is so difficult to get sponsorship and investment deals….This is not because we don’t have the numbers. In this current harsh economy, this money would help a lot to push my ministry, But, How would the Christian community react if a gospel musician is chosen as an ambassador for a betting company or an alcoholic beverage?😂
DEAR GOD, LEAD ME NOT INTO TEMPTATION

A few weeks ago, Joe Mettle shared his thought on how difficult it is for gospel musicians to get investments.
He urged companies owned by Christians to throw these gospel artistes a lifeline.
Joe Mettle will be holding this year’s Praise Reloaded’ concert on Sunday, June 25, 2022, at the Perez Dome at the Dzorwulu.
