Marijuana has been legalised in Ghana, but only for industrial purposes – which means people who smoke the hemp can still be dealt with, according to the law.
This is why legendary Ghanaian musician Abrantie Amakye Dede wants the government to make the smoking of weed in Ghana legal.
He told Nana Aba Anamoah on Starr FM on Wednesday that it is the misconception that weed smokers are bad people.
“If you smoke weed, you’re not a bad person. I think the Government should legalize it,” he said.
He however added he personally does not smoke.
A lot of showbiz people including Samini, Ras Kuuku, Blakk Rasta and actor John Dumelo have also called for weed to be legalised for its economic benefits.
But will marijuana ever be legalised for smoking in Ghana?
