Ghana and Nigeria are noted for having a go at each other on the least controversial subject.
The battles and debates are usually about jollof, music, soccer or governance. Well, there is a new music beef between the two countries and it is not between mainstream musicians; two mothers are battling it out the hardest way they can.
It all started when Ghanaian rapper CJ Biggerman posted the video of a song in which he featured a woman he claims is his mother, Big Ivy. Big Ivy is heard rapping on the song, which was released on Mother’s Day this year.
Some Nigerians, after seeing Big Ivy’s video asked mothers who could challenge the Ghanaian mother-rapper to drop their songs.
Mama Dollars, from Nigeria, threw shots at Big Ivy on a song and Big Ivy fired back at her.
In the meantime, some people have projected that mainstream rappers may join in this friendly war. Nigerian rapper M.I. Abaga tweeted: “I hear the queen of rap in Ghana wants smoke. Well, I’m the guy.”
