Daniel McKorley, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the McDan Group of Companies, has said that he has awarded actor, broadcaster and CEO of Imagebureau, George Quaye, a contract worth about 2 million dollars.
He said this during the McDan Youth Connect event which was held on August 11, 2022 at the KNUST in Kumasi.
In his address during the programme, he encouraged the youth to yearn for greatness and learn to grow by taking baby steps.
McDan cited George Quaye, who was popularly known in the television series ‘Taxi Driver’ as Aboagye, as one of the people who have grown tremendously in their fields of endeavour.

“I’m here with Aboagye. Aboagye you saw in ‘Taxi Driver’ just won a contract from me – about two million dollars. You saw him in ‘Taxi Driver’ like he was joking [in ‘Taxi Driver] but Aboagye had a purpose. Today, he is sitting here in suit. Everybody has something special in him,” he noted.

It is currently unknown the kind of contract George Quaye has won from McDan but as the Chief Executive Officer of ImageBureau, a public relations, events and media outfit, it is likely it would be within the ambit of his operations.
Ghana Weekend’s checks also show that George Quaye’s ImageBureau was the power behind the recently held Asafotufiam Concert in Ada, which was financed by McDan.
Considering the amount of money involved, the supposed contract, if arts-related, could be one of McDan’s biggest contributions to the creative industry in Ghana.
George Quaye, apart from his role at ImageBureau, is currently the President of the Arts and Tourism Writers Association of Ghana (ATWAG).
He is also the host of the Late Night Express and Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM.
