Franky 5, a former manager of Ghanaian music producer and singer Nacee, has said his artiste has not received enough attention for his works.
Speaking in a MUSE Africa Twitter Spaces conversation monitored by ghanaweekend.com on Friday, August 19, 2022, Franky 5 (born Frank Owusu Kwabena) said Nacee is the “greatest” music producer in Ghana but he has not been elevated as he should.
“Nacee is the greatest music producer we have in Ghana. Still we have not been able to put that spotlight ‘too much’ on him,” he said.
Franky, talking about how he helped in rebranding Nacee noted that when he took over the reins as his manager, he decided to change the spelling of his name.
“Then we needed to rebrand to make the brand a bit refreshingly different. So back in the day it [his name] was spelt ‘Nacy’ so we both agreed to change his name to ‘Nacee’,” he noted.
He said the name change came with a new direction to Nacee’s career which saw serious PR works that projected his various abilities to the world.
“It [his career] was stagnant. It was very stagnant when I got into that studio,” he added.
