A year after his lyrical bout with Amerado, Ghanaian rapper Obibini still believes it is not right to compare him to the ‘Obiaa Boa’ rapper.
Speaking on Nkonkonsa TV’s ‘Keeping it 100’ he responded to why he has not replied to Amerado’s recent jab at him in his ‘Kyibom’ song.
“He’s obsessed with the boy [me]. He knows I am his master, whatever. Any time of the day, he looks up to me. Let me tell you what happened. Do you know if took him a year to reply to the ‘Carcass’ I dropped for him?”
He added that his line in ‘Carcass’ which compares Amerado to a tortoise, is what inspired Amerado to do his song ‘Patience’ which features Black Sherif.
“I called him tortoise and his next song was ‘Akyekyedie nantie,” he quipped.
Obibini added that he sees Amerado as a disrespectful kid, adding that anyone who compares them is making a wrong comparison.
“Anybody who compares Obibini to Amerado is like comparing Otabil to Kumchacha or something,” Obibini stated.
He said if it took Amerado a year to reply to his ‘Carcass’, he will also take a year to get back at him for dissing him in his ‘Kyibom’ song.
Background to Obibini and Amerado beef
In August 2021, Ghanaian rappers Amerado and Obibini were locked in a lyrical duel following the former’s freestyle on Tim Westwood’s show.
A line in the Amerado’s TimWestwood freestyle takes a swipe at “somebody who claims is the rap ‘wudinii’ which literally means rap murderer.
When the freestyle video came out, people interpreted it to mean that he was taking a jab at Obibini because he is the one that goes by that moniker.
Obibini had earlier said Amerado had not gotten to the level he would want to reply to him with a song.
However, he was goaded to do a diss song for the Mic Burners apostle when Amerado called his bluff yesterday in an interview with MzGee on TV3, to hit the booth if he felt disrespected by his ‘wudinii’ jab in the Tim Westwood freestyle.
According to Amerado, even though he knew ‘wudinii’ was Obibini’s tag, he did not mention his name.
Obibini then dropped ‘Deceased’, taking Amerado to the cleaners. Barely four hours later, Amerado also replied with ‘The Throne.’
The following day, Obibini dropped another one called ‘Carcass’. However, Amerado did not reply to that diss song until he recently said in his ‘Kyibom’ that his silence to Obibini killed his career.
Will Obibini really come back to diss Amerado on a song later, as he said on Nkonkonsa TV?
