Highlife musician, Daddy Lumba has shown his appreciation to Stormzy for celebrating him at the Global Citizen Festival recently held in Accra.
During his performance, Stormzy wore a t-shirt that had a picture of Daddy Lumba.
Honoured by the gesture, Lumba took to Facebook to write, quote: “I was immensely touched by Stormzy’s homage to me last night at the Global Citizen Festival.
I would like to take this opportunity to share my gratitude and appreciation for the public display of love.
To say that the gesture was heartwarming and humbling is an understatement.
Thank you very much!,” unquote.
The British grime act of Ghanaian descent has received plaudits for celebrating the highlife legend on such a big stage.
Not only did he celebrate Lumba; but he also featured two of Ghana’s musicians – Yaw Yog and Kwesi Arthur on his set.
